The Comedy of Errors at Hudson Valley Shakespeare in Garrison, NY
I’m really lucky to be spending April through September of this year in New York with Hudson Valley Shakespeare. I’ve known Davis McCallum, the Artistic Director of HVS, for a number of years - since we worked together on the world premiere of The Book of Will in Denver back in 2016-2017. Davis has very kindly brought me to HVS several times over the years to take part in workshop readings for the company’s play development initiative, HVS2. But this is the first time I’ve had the chance to do an entire season with the company, and I am having a blast.
My first show with the company this season is one of Shakespeare’s early comedies, The Comedy of Errors, directed by Ryan Quinn. I am playing Antipholus of Ephesus, one of a set of twins separated at birth who are brought together many years later by a hilarious set of coincidences - or by the hands of fate…? The play is riotously funny, and our cast is filled with incredible comedians and clowns and expert players of Shakespeare. I’m doing my best to keep up!
The Comedy of Errors is playing in HVS’s signature tent in Garrison, NY from June 6 through August 2. (This is the last season under the tent, before the company moves to their brand new permanent amphitheater in 2026.) For more information about the show (including how to buy tickets), click HERE!
